![]() There must be a party host, who is over 21, to address any concerns that may arise during the event. There are a set of guidelines that students must follow in order to host a party. There are eleven total spaces, four of which are in Moon Hall. There is a calendar available online so students may see what spaces are already reserved. Registering for parties is done through an online portal. This change comes following concerns about structural safety in dorm and apartment parties, after concerns of floors warping during large parties. Any party of more than 15 students must be registered and held in a designated social space. In the past, Denison has tried to shift away from dorm and apartment parties and toward parties held in campus social spaces. Registration for the space is now open, and every individual space in the Hall was registered by Greek organizations for formals on Saturday, October 26. The event was planned by a committee comprised of students Youssef Bourouphael ’22, Dominika Chruszcz ’22, Gabriela Perez ’20, Eric Smolker ’21, Coby Strell ’21, and faculty Erik Farley, Matthew Vetter and Drew Mascioli. Students were allowed to bring “beer, wine and other single-serving beverages (e.g., hard seltzer) in cans or boxed containers.” The event was a “BYOB Event” according to Farley’s email. There were also performances by students performers, such as Wizdom Scott ’21 who performed an original rap produced by Ladi Ogundipe ’21. The food included walking tacos, chicken nuggets, and moon shaped cookies. and dancing and entertainment from 10 p.m. The emails were sent by, Dean of Student Leadership and Community Engagement, Erik Farley who highlighted the schedule of the event, held on Friday, October 25. ![]() Posters advertising Moon Hall’s Snapchat account could be found all over campus, and students received emails advertising the event. The name “Moon Hall” was intended as a nod to the “Sunnies,” the nickname for senior apartments that in past years were the go-to locations for parties on campus. The hall has four interior spaces called “Crescent Moon,” “Full Moon,” “New Moon” and “Gibbous Moon.” The hall was named following a student naming contest. TotalSpaces2 was a significant effort, and it is a paid upgrade. TotalSpaces2 works well with both major multi-monitor spaces modes, but the re-written code offers performance benefits and ease of use for single screen users as well. It’s not exactly the same as TotalSpaces (there are some differences), but it gives you the same grid and the same workflows as before. TotalSpaces2 is designed for MavericksĪnd so TotalSpaces2 was born. ![]() With the new version, I wanted to focus on the grid, to incorporate all types of desktops in it, and to make it easy for you to re-arrange your grid as you work. The very soul of TotalSpaces is the grid that enables you to keep a mental map of where your windows are. It was frustrating at times, but we were able to clean up and correct earlier mistakes as we went, and I think we ended up with a better result. In fact, we had to take the whole app to bits, and re-architect it to work with Mavericks. And it turns out there were many other changes under the hood also. However, I knew this meant a significant change for TotalSpaces. This was a fundamental change in the system, and one much welcomed by users. When OSX Mavericks was announced, Apple had done a great thing - they made it possible to keep something different on each of your displays. What of TotalSpaces? ** The new operating system brings many changesĮver since Apple introduced fullscreen apps, users with more than one display have been staring at a useless blank second monitor while working with a fullsceen app on the other one. ![]() ** OSX Mavericks public release is almost upon us. ![]()
